Warwick is situated 160 kilometres south west of Brisbane and borders on fertile farmlands and the rolling hills of the Great Dividing Range. The town is strategically located at the junction of major highways from Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

The area was discovered in 1827 by explorer Allan Cunningham and settled in 1840 by the Leslie brothers who began the tradition of the pastoralist, sheep and wool industry in Queensland.

    1. Australian Rodeo Heritage Centre The Australian Rodeo Heritage Centre is a place to follow history and relive the glory of the Australian Professional Rodeo Association's greatest champions and rodeo history.
    2. Glengallan Homestead and Heritage Centre After more than 70 years of decline and dereliction, Glengallan emerges from the ruins of the 1867 sandstone mansion as a unique heritage experience. Walk through time and re-live the Glengallan story from squattocracy to farmer settlement. An innovative interpretation allows Glengallan to evolve with time as old photographs and documents shed more light on life in what was once described as “the finest house in the colony”.
    3. Southern Downs Steam Railway The Southern Downs Steam Railway is a Mainline Tourist Heritage Railway and rail museum based in Warwick. Established in 1995, SDSR has restored a Heritage C17 Steam Locomotive to operational condition for use with these trains.
    4. Warwick Art Gallery The Warwick Art Gallery is at the forefront of cultural activities in the Southern Downs Regional Shire. Especially committed to community activities, the Gallery aims to identify, promote and celebrate the community's artistic and cultural identity and support community-based festivals, exchanges and events.
    5. Warwick Historical Society Museum The Warwick Historical Society Museum is a collection of buildings which features furniture and household items representing more than 130 years of family life in the Warwick district.

    1. Main Range National Park Main Range National Park, following an arc of rugged peaks and ridges, is the crucial western link in south-east Queensland’s remarkable Scenic Rim. Crossed by the Cunningham Highway, this park is part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area that offers an impressive waterfall, challenging hikes and easy rainforest walks with wonderful views. For terrific views and experiences: at Cunningham’s Gap picnic area, try the Rainforest circuit or stroll to Fassifern Valley lookout (both short walks); zigzag up Mount Cordeaux (lyrebirds and scarlet-flowered giant spear lilies) or Mount Mitchell (sheer cliff face).
    2. Morgan Park Morgan Park is a major sport and recreation facility and houses a range of sport clubs and organisations, as well as a reserve which is home to a wide range of bird species.

    3. Warwick Rodeo Held at the Warwick Showgrounds since 1929, the Warwick Rodeo is known as 'Australia's Most Famous' rodeo. At the 80th Warwick Rodeo, see campdrafting and the rodeo events. Highlights of the event will be the C G Welding Australian Championship Steer Ride, Warwick Credit Union Open Bull Ride, Wild Cow Milking and many more. The Black Toyota Warwick Gold Cup 'the Melbourne Cup of Campdrafting' will be at 12 noon on Sunday.

    1. Jumpers and Jazz In July Festival Queensland's quirky winter festival happens in Warwick each July. A platform for the arts and a celebration of all that is wonderful about winter, the festival's success is due to the community embracing the chill and the opportunity to be inspired by vibrant music and art. The Festival is a must do for any textile lover and the street art exhibition is guaranteed to inspire and enchant all who see it. Over 150 tree jumpers are worn by trees lining the Central Business District and every year the participating artists step up to a new level of cleverness and creativity. A diverse program of Jazz music events encourages visitors and locals to attend local cafes, restaurants, clubs and hotels to be entertained and most importantly "relax and enjoy".
    2. Warwick Pig and Calf Markets The spirit and personality of the country is jammed into the weekly Pig and Calf Sales and Fruit and Vegetable Market which is held every Wednesday morning. A visit to Warwick’s Pig and Calf Sales is one of those experiences you’ll never forget, a unique country experience! This market is the longest continually operated market in Queensland, offering much more than livestock.

    1. Morgan Park Raceway Race Meets Morgan Park Raceway hosts a number of fantastic race meets throughout the year, including the Queensland Super Sprint Series, CAMS State Championship, Historic Racing Car Club meets, Motorcycle Sportsmen Race Meetings and many more.
    2. Warwick Pentath-run Warwick Pentath-run is a unique event comprising of five races totalling 42.2 kilometres. The Pentath - running all five races, starts on Saturday 26 May. Runners can choose to do all, one or any combination of races. Race One is a half marathon which is set on a scenic course leaving Warwick and Finishing at the nearby town Yangan. Race Two, 4.6 kilometre Cross Country. Race Three - five kilometre road-race in the country starting and finishing at the historic Pub. Sunday is Race Four, a 10 kilometre Ascent and Race Five finishes with the 1,500 metre up the main street of Warwick.
